Cumbria Futures Forum is an independent think tank composed of individuals interested in the long term sustainability of our communities.
Other organisations are working well and hard to shape current practices in the County to address the immediate problems of energy, waste, agriculture, water etc. We will focus on the long term impact of these changes. What will Cumbria look like in 25 - 30 years? What will happen to tourism, to agriculture, to transport, to energy supplies and to water in that time and how are we planning now for those long term changes?
We will champion Cumbria's leadership in generating a local approach to long term global problems including climate change, energy, waste disposal, water resources and land use.
We will seek to understand and influence the kind of environment, community and economy which we will pass on to future generations. We will ask challenging questions and seek to ensure that Cumbria's long term future is secure and sustainable.
You can make your voice heard NOW by clicking on the Pledge link (above) and recording your own commitment to build a sustainable future for Cumbria.
